1. For electric powered models, the electric power circuit(s) must not be physically connected, before the competitor is instructed to start his 8- minutes flight time and must be physically disconnected right after landing.

Judging

The APA takes judging very seriously in fact, quality judging is fundamental to what we do as precision aerobatic pilots.

International Judge selection - We're working on producing a means of certifying our Judges and this may also be rolled out to the states as an initiative to improve our Judging standards overall. Watch this space for further information.

Latest Update

A 2017 World Championships blog has been started by Shayne and John Lysaght here.


The APA has published the new schedule call cards and manoeuver descriptions for 2018/19. Note, the Sportsman schedule has been updated to include some basic turn-around. These schedules come into effect January 1st 2018.


The 2018 Australian Masters and World Cup will be held at P&DARCS, Pakenham Victoria on the 9-12th of March 2018.


Back in April the Trans Tasman event was held in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. It was a great event which for the first time included the A16 class. Frazer Briggs has written a great article here.


The APA is evaluating the Notaumatic scoring system. We have purchased three units (as pictured below) and they have been successfully used at the Toowoomba contest in Queensland last weekend. So far so good. Stay tuned for more information.

2017 Promotion Scores
Following the end of the 2016 flying season the APA committee have recently reviewed all class promotion scores and decided that the Expert Class promotion score be reduced to 360 for 2017. All other classes remain unchanged.

If you wish to become an Australian judge, please check the requirements on the web site about how to become an International judge.

Australia is allowed to nominate up to five judges on the FAI register.
Go to Judging in main menu and scroll down to "Become and International Judge".
